Mint XL Leeds: The 2,500-Capacity Club in the Old PRYZM, Explained
Mint XL is Leeds's new 2,500-capacity club in the old PRYZM on Woodhouse Lane: three rooms, Funktion-One Vero, no phones, and the autumn line-ups.

Mint XL is Leeds's new 2,500-capacity club at 16-18 Woodhouse Lane, inside the Merrion Centre in the old PRYZM unit, and it opened on Friday 25 September 2026 with a system. party across all three rooms. It is run by the team behind Mint Club, Mint Warehouse and Mint Festival, it has a new Funktion-One Vero system in the main room, and it runs a strict no-phones policy on club nights. Weekend nights mostly run 22:00 to 05:00 or 06:00, over-18s only, with RA tickets from £11.50 to £46.10. The first two months are booked with minimal, house, garage and bass. Here is what the building is, the capacity question, the rules, the bookings and the nights I would pick.

What Mint XL is, and who is behind it
Mint has been part of Leeds clubbing since the 1990s. The original Mint Club ran for twenty years before it closed in 2018, Mint Warehouse opened in Holbeck in 2012 and still runs at Aquatite House on Water Lane, and Mint Festival is the team's annual festival. Mint XL is the first time the brand has had a room of this size in the city centre. "Mint XL is the next chapter for the brand," owner Shane Graham said in the April announcement. "From Mint Club through to Mint Festival, we've spent nearly two decades building something special in Leeds, and this is a natural progression of that journey." Director Mikey McMahon said it lets them "programme multi-bill lineups at a much bigger scale across multiple rooms."
The unit was PRYZM, the mainstream superclub that hosted Leeds Beckett's sports socials, which shut with immediate effect in February 2024 when its operator, Rekom UK, collapsed and 17 of its venues closed. The landlord is Town Centre Securities, which owns the Merrion Centre. So this is a mainstream club rebuilt for underground booking, which is the whole bet.
The capacity question: 2,000 or 2,500?
Both numbers were true at different times. When the project was announced in April, before the site was named, Leeds Living said "over 2,000" and DJ Mag and RA said 2,000. By the time the Merrion Centre named the location in May, the figure was 2,500, and The Hoot's June report on the opening party used 2,500 too. The venue's own website states "2,500 Capacity" under the address, so that is the number to use. RA's venue page still says 2,000, which is where the confusion comes from.
The room, the sound and the no-phones rule
The main room has a newly installed Funktion-One Vero system, according to the team's April announcement. Funktion-One describes Vero as its arrayable system for arena, festival and touring sound, so putting one in a 2,500-capacity club is a statement about headroom: volume that stays clean at the back of the floor. The other two rooms' systems have not been published.
Leeds Living reported that Mint XL "will also operate a strict no-phones policy during club events, keeping the focus on the music and the moment", and DJ Mag said it would be "enforced throughout the venue." I am in favour. A floor without screens is a better floor, and no-phones rooms are now the norm for this sound, from Chris Stussy's USS to the rooms in why minimal house became the sound of expensive clubbing. The venue has not published house rules, so I cannot tell you how it is enforced at the door. Assume your phone stays in your pocket.
Who is booking it: the opening and the autumn
system. took all three rooms on 25 September with Craig Richards, Enzo Siragusa, Fumiya Tanaka, Sonja Moonear, Prosumer, Rich NXT, Voigtmann, Francesco Del Garda, Laidlaw, Truly Madly, Isabelle Koci, Foehn & Jerome, Kinso, Annie Errez and Bobby O'Donnell, and every ticket release listed on RA, from £34.60 to £46.10, had sold out. That is a minimal and house bill that shares Enzo Siragusa, Voigtmann and Laidlaw with FUSE's Drumsheds birthday, at close to London prices. The rest of the season splits between that sound, UK garage and bass, and tech house. These are the dates listed from publication onwards.

Beyond November, Framework x Mugpie with Christian AB and Unai Trotti is on 19 December and Area 10 with MK on 19 February 2027. The student night After Dark Thursdays launched on 1 October, 23:00 to 04:00, at £1 to £7 plus a £1 booking fee on Fatsoma. Garage readers want Airspace, with Notion on top, and the Halloween Saturday belongs to Ewan McVicar. The Wednesday date and the Airspace Halloween showed no prices on the pages I could check.
Which nights I would book
If you missed the opening, Jampacked on 21 November is the closest thing to it in sound: a minimal bill with Annie Errez and Bobby O'Donnell, who also played the opening, and some of the cheapest tiers of the autumn. Framework with Ben UFO is the other one, but it had sold out on RA. For garage and bass, Airspace on 10 October. DJ EZ and MJ Cole on 3 October is a UK garage history lesson in one room. The caveat is that this is a new room. Nobody knows yet how the Vero sounds with 2,500 people in it or how three rooms flow at 2am, so I would pick a night with a clear music policy while that settles.
Getting there and getting in
- On foot: the Merrion Centre says it is around ten minutes' walk from Leeds station. The address is on Woodhouse Lane.
- By bus: around 20 bus routes pass the Merrion Centre, including the free Leeds city centre bus.
- By car: the Merrion Centre multi-storey, run by CitiPark, has almost 1,000 spaces and opens 24 hours.
- Age and ID: every listed club night is 18+. The student Thursday runs a Challenge 25 policy. Bring physical ID.
- Last entry: it changes by promoter: 23:00 for the opening, 00:15 for Marsolo, 01:00 for Airspace. Check the ticket page.
The other Leeds warehouse: unconfirmed
In July, Mixmag reported that Arrival, the promoters behind events at TESTBED and Under The Arches, are opening Vault, billed as "Leeds' largest-ever warehouse experience". Its location, capacity and opening date had not been announced at the time of writing, so treat it as a sign-up page, not a venue yet. Leeds has always been good value and bass-heavy, the case I made in the freshers week guide. With two big rooms coming, it now has to prove it can fill them.
