From a spontaneous idea to a second Neon Black takeover
The first House of MNEEMO x Neon Black project was never built as a major public event. It started naturally, through the friendship between MNEEMO and Ravi Sharma, the owner and creative force behind Neon Black. Both had been connected through music, style and London's creative circles, where ideas often begin long before they become formal projects. The concept then was simple: bring friends, family and the right people into Neon Black for a private summer gathering. No heavy campaign, no overproduced launch, just music, drinks, good people and the sharp atmosphere of the space.
That first edition was captured in the original performance video: watch the first House of MNEEMO x Neon Black project.
For Ravi Sharma, working with House of MNEEMO is about shared values rather than reach. "The most exciting collaborations happen when two brands share a similar philosophy rather than simply a similar audience," he says. London, he notes, "has always been shaped by the intersection of different creative disciplines. Music influences fashion. Fashion influences grooming. Design influences culture." The aim, in his words, is "less about collaboration as a marketing exercise and more about creating meaningful cultural moments with people who genuinely share our values."
The room made it clear the idea had more in it. The space worked, the crowd worked, the music worked, and the connection between House of MNEEMO and Neon Black felt natural because both sit in the same world of London culture, detail and identity. One year later the takeover returns with a stronger concept, a curated guest list, a professional film team and a wider creative layer around it. The original energy stays the same. The execution moves up.
Why Neon Black became the setting
Neon Black is not a traditional nightlife venue, and that is exactly why it works. As founder Ravi Sharma puts it, "Neon Black was never conceived as a barbershop. It was conceived as a creative environment that happened to offer grooming." The name itself carries that tension: "Black represents sophistication, restraint and timelessness, while Neon introduces energy, creativity and modern culture."
Based in Embassy Gardens, Nine Elms, the space has built its identity around precision grooming, modern minimalism and a sharp visual language. It is intimate, controlled and distinctive, designed to feel closer to a private members' lounge, a design studio or a boutique hotel than a traditional barbershop, and built on the belief that "grooming is not vanity, it is ritual." For a filmed performance, that matters: the room is not a backdrop, it becomes part of the final image. A club gives you lights, speakers and a dancefloor. Neon Black gives texture, detail, proximity and atmosphere.
House of MNEEMO brings the sound, the performance and the live energy. Neon Black brings the setting, the aesthetic and the identity. Together the collaboration lands somewhere between a private party, a DJ performance and a visual music project.
A filmed DJ performance, not a standard club night
The 20 June takeover is built around two filmed DJ sets. CABBA LAGA opens the evening, setting the tone and building the first wave of energy in the room. The headline performance comes from MNEEMO, an international DJ and producer known for high-energy electronic music, club-focused edits and live performance content, with millions of streams across platforms.
The main set is built as a performance, not background music. The focus is on skill, presence, crowd connection and visual impact. A normal DJ set lives only in the room. This one is designed to live beyond it too, across YouTube, Instagram Reels and TikTok. It sits within the same London club culture House of MNEEMO documents across the city, from warehouse rooms to the venues that define a night out in London. The energy has to work live, and it has to work on camera.
Beyond the line-up, this edition is built on a set of relationships. These are the people shaping the room on 20 June.
MNEEMO and Ravi Sharma: from Embassy Gardens to Neon Black
The connection between MNEEMO and Ravi Sharma started naturally through Embassy Gardens. Before the first takeover, MNEEMO had lived in Embassy Gardens and met Ravi around the time Neon Black opened its studio in the neighbourhood. What began as a local connection quickly became a genuine friendship built around shared taste, style and the kind of creative ambition that sits beyond a single event.
That is why the House of MNEEMO x Neon Black collaboration has always felt natural. It was never a cold brand partnership or a rented venue arrangement. It came from friendship, trust and a shared understanding of how the space could be used differently.
Neon Black was not treated as just a location. It became part of the story: a sharp, intimate and visually distinctive environment where music, grooming, style and London's creative circle could meet in the same room.
MNEEMO and Angelina Gorgaeva: a new creative synergy
The 20 June takeover also marks the first creative collaboration between MNEEMO and Angelina Gorgaeva. The two first connected through London's cultural events, creative gatherings and nightlife spaces, where music, movement, fashion, performance and visual culture naturally overlap. By summer 2026, that connection had developed into a clear creative synergy.
Behind the collaboration is a serious track record. Angelina Gorgaeva is the founder, artistic director and choreographer of Dance.Film.Performance — an award-winning London contemporary dance company and production agency working at the intersection of dance, film, new media, visual art and fashion. Coming from an art and design background, she has choreographed a string of original works — ICARUS, an interactive audio-visual performance retelling the Greek myth through real-time motion-capture projections and live electronic music; Poem of RUA, which folds Eastern dance languages into contemporary movement; the immersive exhibition performance LUMORA — and has presented choreography at Resolution at The Place, the UK's leading platform for new choreography. As a director and producer she has delivered films, large-scale shows and sold-out productions across the UK and internationally, most recently KRASOTA (2025), a large-scale performance in which live dancers interact with projections generated in real time.
She builds platforms, not just productions: the DFP SHOWCASE series and the DFP x ARRAY collaboration with Darren Johnston brought choreographers, filmmakers and new-media artists into shared programmes in 2024; the DFP Members.Club and CREATIVE LAB followed in 2025; and her DFP Film Festival — an international dance-film festival with its awards evening in London — held its first edition in 2026. That is exactly the profile House of MNEEMO wanted in the room: someone who choreographs for the space and for the camera at the same time, and who arrives with a community of dancers, filmmakers and visual artists behind her.
For MNEEMO, the project is about pushing the DJ set beyond the standard format and treating it as a performance that can be felt live, filmed cinematically and experienced beyond the room. For Angelina, whose work moves through dance, film, performance and creative direction, the event creates a space where movement and atmosphere can become part of the music itself.
This is the first time those two worlds meet in a shared project. House of MNEEMO brings the sound, DJ performance and live energy. Angelina brings the movement-led perspective, creative network and performance dimension. Together, that collaboration adds another layer to the Neon Black takeover: not only music in a stylish space, but a live environment shaped by sound, bodies, camera, style and atmosphere.
Dance.Film.Performance: bringing movement into the room
For this edition, the House of MNEEMO x Neon Black takeover also brings in Dance.Film.Performance, the London-based dance company and production agency led by Angelina Gorgaeva. Dance.Film.Performance works across dance, film, performance, visual storytelling and interdisciplinary creative projects. Its involvement gives the event a stronger movement and performance layer, connecting the DJ set with dancers, performers and London creatives who understand how bodies, camera and atmosphere work together.
This is not about placing dancers in the background. The goal is to build a room where movement feels natural to the music and where the people around the DJ become part of the visual story.
Through Dance.Film.Performance, the takeover becomes more than a filmed DJ set. It becomes a creative hub where music, dance, film, styling and performance meet inside one environment. That wider creative community is essential to the 20 June project. It helps turn the event from a private party into a documented London cultural moment.
MNEEMO and George Kashcheev: the visual language behind the sets
George Kashcheev has been closely connected to MNEEMO's visual journey for years. As MNEEMO's live performance content started moving beyond private house gatherings and into more ambitious filmed DJ sets, George became one of the key creative forces behind the visual direction. He has stood behind many of the YouTube sets and visual projects that helped shape the House of MNEEMO identity: the camera language, the cinematic framing, the performance atmosphere and the way each set feels on screen.
For the Neon Black takeover, that relationship continues. George Kashcheev Studio will lead the filming and visual direction of the 20 June project, making sure the event is captured not as a basic recap, but as a cinematic DJ performance. The camera is not an afterthought. It is part of the structure of the event.
MNEEMO and CABBA LAGA: supporting the next wave
CABBA LAGA opens the 20 June takeover as the supporting act. Beyond the line-up, the connection is personal. CABBA LAGA is a friend of MNEEMO and part of the wider creative circle around the House of MNEEMO project. As CABBA LAGA begins developing his own direction in music, MNEEMO has played a mentoring role, helping guide that early stage of growth and giving him space to perform within a stronger creative context.
That makes the opening set more than a warm-up slot. It is part of the wider House of MNEEMO philosophy: building a room, creating opportunities and bringing the right people into the project at the right moment. CABBA LAGA will set the tone for the evening before MNEEMO's main filmed performance.
A curated room of London creative people
The audience for this takeover is selected, not random. Alongside the long-standing friendship between MNEEMO and Ravi Sharma, the project brings together people from music, film, dance, performance, style and nightlife. Guests are close to the DJ, visible in the filmed performance, and part of the atmosphere around the set.
The idea is not to build a fake production environment. It is to capture the feeling of a real private party inside a visually strong London space, with people who understand the atmosphere, respect the creative direction and bring the right energy. People will dance, react naturally and enjoy the music. For this kind of filmed performance, the crowd is part of the composition. The right room changes the set, and it makes the final video feel alive rather than staged.
That is what makes the project different. It is a DJ performance, a private summer gathering and a visual content project at once, a documented creative moment between House of MNEEMO, Neon Black and the wider creative community around them.
Beyond the studio
Neon Black's ambition has never been confined to four walls. After being recognised by GQ and launching its own product line, the brand has been moving toward a wider sensory world of design, fragrance, hospitality and culture. "Neon Black is ultimately about building a world, not just a business," Sharma says. A filmed takeover with House of MNEEMO sits naturally inside that ambition: grooming as the foundation, culture as the expansion.
