ADE Free Events 2026: Every Free Listing, Day by Day, and What Needs an RSVP

ADE 2026 has no free festival ticket, but the official programme tags 192 listings as free, and the three anchors are ADE Lab Discovery at Westergas, Jeff Mills' film of Rembrandt's Night Watch at the Rijksmuseum and the Tomorrowland Expo at De Rode Hoed. Amsterdam Dance Event runs from Wednesday 21 to Sunday 25 October, and every party sells its own tickets. Around them sits a free layer of in-stores, bar showcases, exhibitions, talks and a few proper club nights. This page lists all of it, day by day. For how ADE works, read our full ADE 2026 guide.

ADE free events 2026 at a glance

• The count: 192 free listings on 15 October, up from 182 on 12 and 13 October: 100 "Free Festival Events" (parties, showcases, in-stores) and 92 "Free A&C Events" (art, film, talks). By day: Wednesday 29, Thursday 48, Friday 44, Saturday 44, Sunday 27. Exhibitions repeat daily, so it is 137 distinct titles.
• ADE Lab Discovery: Wednesday 21 to Friday 23 October, 10:00 to 18:00, Westergas. Free after registration, wristband required.
• Jeff Mills at the Rijksmuseum: a 50-minute film, Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 October at 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00, free and including museum entry. Tickets went out in a 12 October drop to people who signed up by 11 October.
• Tomorrowland Expo: De Rode Hoed, Keizersgracht 102. Wednesday 10:00 to 17:00, Thursday to Saturday 10:00 to 20:00. Free entrance, with no registration listed.
• RSVP or registration: needed for Lab Discovery, the Rijksmuseum, Lobster at BRET, JØASE at Panama, DTLA x Saturo Sounds, Five Pizzas, the Afro House Summit, The Art of Noise, Thomas Azier, M07's SIGNAL and The Future Sound of Nature, among others. The tables mark each one; plain "free" means walk in while there is room.
• Best free club nights and sessions: Wednesday, Mella Dee b2b Samuel Deep at BRET. Thursday, RA25 at San Francisco by day (Marcel Dettmann, Nicolas Lutz), UK crew Groove Kitchen at 50:Hertz by night. Friday, Drumcity at Café Brandon, then Daniele Baldelli at Bordello Aperitivo. Saturday, Joe Smooth at Blend XL. Sunday, Sunday Selectors at Concerto, then JØASE at Panama.
• Free ferries: the GVB ferries across the IJ from behind Centraal cost nothing. NDSM is about fifteen minutes, Buiksloterweg (for A'DAM Toren) about five.
• One trap: B:Wired at Yellow House on Saturday carries ADE's free tag, but RA was selling tickets from EUR 31.10 at the time of writing (mid October 2026). It is left out below.

Times are ADE programme times, and every entry rule was checked on the event pages on Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 October, with times, counts and several RSVP pages rechecked on Thursday 15 October, so read each one as at the time of writing (mid October 2026). Free rooms are small, so arrive early. The paid parties are in ADE 2026 parties, day by day. Searching for ADE Playground? That mostly free daytime strand of the mid 2010s is not in the 2026 programme; the closest things now are ADE Friends, the free Arts & Culture events and Lab Discovery.

Free all week: exhibitions, installations and the Rijksmuseum

The Rijksmuseum film is the one people ask about. Mills made it inside the museum with dancer Sophie Boursier, and ADE stresses it is a seated screening, not a DJ set. Entry includes the museum, courtesy of KPN. Sign-up closed on 11 October and the drop ran on 12 October at 12:00. On 13 October neither ADE nor Audio Obscura offered a public sale, so treat it as gone unless a release appears on the ADE event page.

ADE free events Wednesday 21 October

Wednesday has 29 free listings, the second fewest after Sunday's 27, and for me the best free night. Plus the all-week list.

I would start with Marshall Jefferson's Chicago house session and finish at BRET. Lobster's night is missing from ADE's free list, but its ADE page calls it a free event, and RA lists it at 21+.

ADE free events Thursday 22 October

Thursday is the busiest free day, with 48 listings. Its headline is outside the ADE programme: Resident Advisor's 25th-birthday party is free (cost 0 on RA), but on 15 October RA switched the listing to ticketed without showing any tickets yet, so check its RA page before you go. Plus the all-week list.

If I had one free day, it would be this one: RA25 in the afternoon, then Groove Kitchen at 50:Hertz. Dave Clarke's Art of Noise had 41 places on Tuesday 13 October but was full by Thursday 15 October, with a waitlist open. M07's 19:00 SIGNAL premiere is full too, while the 21:00 screening still took bookings on 15 October.

ADE free events Friday 23 October

Friday has 44 free listings and is the last day of Lab Discovery. Plus the all-week list.

I would do Drumcity, which I amsterdam calls a London-based Afro house label, in Café Brandon, a brown café ADE dates to 1626, then Daniele Baldelli's Mondo Groove showcase at Bordello Aperitivo from 22:00. The Sounds of Blackness is at NDSM: take the free ferry.

ADE free events Saturday 24 October

Saturday has 44 free listings, and 18 of its 23 club-type ones carry a house genre tag. Plus the all-week list.

Saturday's best free hours are early: Nervous Records at 17:00, or The Future Sound of Nature in a waterfront glasshouse, where artists make music with birdsong, whale calls and forest recordings, live.

ADE free events Sunday 25 October

Sunday has 27 free listings, the fewest of the week, and I would put two of them among the best of the week. Plus the all-week list.

At Sunday Selectors each guest brings five tracks and explains them: Louisahhh at 15:00, Dave Clarke 15:45, Marcel Dettmann 16:30, Joost van Bellen 17:15, then DJ Dragnet. ADE calls Concerto Amsterdam's largest record shop, but capacity is limited, so go early. Then JØASE plays six hours of techno in Panama's main room while Boogie House runs house and UK garage in the second. The paid UK nights are in ADE 2026 UK garage parties and UK artists.

ADE Lab Discovery: registration, e-ticket, wristband

Lab Discovery is new this year and, in ADE's words, "an entirely free program": Wednesday 21 to Friday 23 October, 10:00 to 18:00, across ADE Lab Village in Cultural Park Westergas. It covers the Gear Test Lab in Het Ketelhuis (AlphaTheta, Technics, Roland, Arturia, Union Audio and more), "Get Into" sessions and demos, listening sessions at Radio Radio, and partner hubs around the park.

• Register: online via the ADE Lab page, or by QR code in the park.
• E-ticket: registration sends one. It is personal and not transferable.
• Wristband: take the e-ticket and ID to the Westerpark container, Gosschalklaan, 1014 DC Amsterdam, open 09:00 to 18:00 Wednesday to Friday. No wristband, no entry.
• Worth planning around: Jasmín on her fabric Records EP (Wednesday 12:30, Radio Radio), AlphaTheta's CDJ-3000X demo (Wednesday 14:45), Get Into: Nachtpas, on a subscription to revive spontaneous clubbing (Wednesday 17:00).
• Not included: Lab On Track, CLUB Lab's ticketed club night, and the paid club events at Gashouder, WestWeelde, Pacific and Radio Radio.

FAQ

Is ADE free?

No. There is no free festival pass and every party sells its own tickets. But the programme tags 192 listings as free, Lab Discovery is free after registration, and ADE calls its Friends programme "mostly with free admission".

How many free events are there at ADE 2026?

192 free-tagged listings at the time of writing (15 October 2026, up from 182 on 12 and 13 October), or 137 distinct titles. A few free events, such as Lobster at BRET and RA25, are not tagged.

Can I still get tickets for Jeff Mills at the Rijksmuseum?

Probably not. Sign-up closed on 11 October and the free tickets went out on 12 October. We found no public tickets at the time of writing (mid October 2026); check the ADE event page for returns.

Do I need to register for ADE Lab Discovery?

Yes. Register online or by QR code, then collect a wristband with your e-ticket and ID at the Westerpark container, Wednesday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00.

Are the ferries free during ADE?

The GVB ferries across the IJ are. Trams, buses and metro are not, unless you hold an ADE Pro Pass, but GVB gives 20% off day tickets in its webshop with the code ADE2026.

Are free ADE events 18+?

Club events usually are; ADE says most festival events are 18+, some 21+ or 23+. Lobster at BRET is 21+ on RA. ADE pitches the daytime Friends programme "for young and old".
