On 31 October all three rooms are elrow's.* elrow is a Spanish party brand founded in 2010 by Cruz and Juan Arnau, the sixth generation of a family that has been in the entertainment business in Catalonia and Aragon since a 19th-century ancestor opened Café Josepet, the first social club in Fraga. The same family built Florida 135, the legendary club in Fraga, and the Monegros Desert Festival, and elrow's headquarters are in Viladecans, south of Barcelona. What the Arnaus worked out is that a club night can be a theatre: every elrow has a theme, with Singermorning, Sambodromo do Brasil and Rowlympics among the flagships, and every theme comes with inflatables, stilt-walkers, confetti cannons and performers in costume, so the production is the headliner and the DJs play inside it. Horroween is the Halloween theme, born at elrow's Amnesia Ibiza residency, where it is built around the Roween mansion and Victoria's house of the damned, and it is the one that travels best, because a Halloween crowd arrives already dressed for it. As a DJ, elrow is the hardest kind of room to play well and the easiest to play badly. The production is so loud visually that the music has to be direct: big records, big vocals, a groove you can find from the back of the X Room through a wall of confetti. That is why the bookings are what they are. Nobody is sending Patrick Topping to elrow to play deep. ## Why Drumsheds, and why 13:00 Drumsheds is the only room in London that can hold an elrow at Ibiza scale indoors: it is licensed for 14,999 after the Enfield Council review of January 2025, with the Y Room at up to 2,500 since its redesign and the Z Room listed at 450 on the venue's own page. The three previous London Horroweens, in 2021, 2023 and 2024, were the proof of concept, and Broadwick is billing this one as the capital's biggest Halloween party. What is different this year is the sound. Arrive early: the afternoon is the theme at its best, with daylight coming in and the production at full strength, and the last two hours are when the main room goes dark and the big records land. By 22:45 you are on the platform at Meridian Water with a whole Halloween night still ahead, which is precisely why the rest of London has programmed around it: Rødhåd at fabric from 11pm to 7am, the Jungle Mania meets AWOL all-dayer at E1 in the daytime for people who prefer jungle to confetti, and the Appetite Halloween special at the new Ironworks, 12:00 to 22:00. General-sale tiers climb, and a Saturday Halloween at Drumsheds is unlikely to last until the day. - **Dress for it.** elrow crowds dress up anyway; on Halloween the costume is the entry fee. Something you can dance in for nine hours and lose a bit of in the confetti. - **Pick a room.** Main room for the house headliners, 240Km/h for the techno, the third stage for the London selectors. Trying to do all three across a room the size of X and two others costs you the best hour of each. - **Eat before 13:00.** Doors at one, close at half ten, and the food inside is festival food at festival prices. - **Plan the second half.** If you want a night after the day, fabric's 7am finish is the natural pairing: from Tottenham Hale it is the Victoria line to King's Cross and one stop on the Circle line to Farringdon.
